1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the MilestonePrep mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Summary: MilestonePrep is a local event preparation tool that helps you organize and track preparation tasks for important milestones. All data is stored on your device. No account is required.

2. Description of Service

MilestonePrep is an iOS application that enables users to:

  • Create milestone events with target dates (exams, travel, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, interviews, moving, and more)
  • Manage preparation checklists organized by phases (Early, Mid, Near)
  • Track preparation progress with visual indicators and completion statistics
  • Receive phased local notifications as reminders at key countdown milestones
  • Optionally sync events to the iOS Calendar via EventKit
  • View countdown information via home screen and lock screen widgets
  • Record event notes and reflections in an event journal
  • Get tailored preparation suggestions based on event type

3. Local Data Storage

All data created within MilestonePrep — including events, preparation items, notes, and settings — is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate any servers or cloud storage.

Important: Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all your data. We recommend maintaining regular iCloud or iTunes device backups to prevent data loss.

4. User Responsibilities

When using MilestonePrep, you agree to:

  • Use the App for lawful purposes only
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Maintain the security of your device and data
  • Be responsible for all content you create within the App
  • Maintain your own device backups to prevent data loss

5. Notifications and Calendar

MilestonePrep uses local notifications and optional calendar integration:

  • Notifications: Phase-based reminders are processed entirely on your device via Apple's local notification system. No notification data is transmitted externally.
  • Calendar Sync: If authorized, events are synced to your local iOS Calendar using EventKit. Calendar data remains on your device and is governed by Apple's privacy controls.
  • Both features are optional and can be disabled in iOS Settings at any time.
  • We are not responsible for missed notifications or calendar events due to device settings, system limitations, or low power mode.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by MilestonePrep and protected by intellectual property laws.

  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App without permission
  • All trademarks, logos, and service marks are our property
  • Content you create within the App (events, notes, tasks) remains your property

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details. In summary: we collect no personal data, use no analytics or tracking, and all data stays on your device.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy of preparation suggestions

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MilestonePrep and its developers shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data due to device failure, app uninstallation, or iOS updates
  • Missed events or deadlines due to notification failures
  • Any outcomes resulting from following or not following preparation suggestions

10. App Updates

  • Updates may add, modify, or remove features
  • Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of changes
  • We recommend keeping the App updated for the best experience and security

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any features at any time.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
